These records were found at the New York Library in 1963 by an assistant librarian named, Gladys Ladu and from our own Family Bible records.
      Martin Blessing b: 9 FEB 1764, d: 7 JUN 1852, m: Margaret Siver b: 18 APR 1765 and d: 8 OCT 1845 (New York library records show they were married 26 APR 1784)
      They had seven children:
      > 1. Frederick Blessing b: 16 JUN 1785 d: 23 JUN 1804 m: Elsie Combe.
(Nebraska State Historical Society, in Early History of the Crounse Family in America states: Giving the same name to the next child born after the death of a child was the frequent custom among the German and Dutch families providing the sex was the same. Hense, the Frederick born later.
      2. Adam
      > 3. Mary Lucretia
      > 4. Nelly
      > 5. John
      > 6. Nancy
      > 7. Frederick b: 8 DEC 1806 d: 10 JUN 1879 m: 16 JUL 1825 to Christianna Marie Van Aernam b: 8 SEP 1808
Side note: Christianna (or Christina) Van Aernam had a sister Margaret Van Aernam b: 6 MAR 1796 and she married John Crounse on 19 AUG 1815. They had a son Lorenzo Crounse who later became Governor of the State of Nebraska
Frederick and Christianna had seven children:
      1. Martin Blessing b: 10 AUG 1826
      > 2. Jane Blessing b: 10 FEB 1828
      > 3. Henry F. Blessing b: 17 NOV 1831
      > 4. Margaret Blessing b: 13 JUNE 1833
      > 5. Catherine Marie Blessing b: 24 MAR 1836
      > 6. Lorenzo Blessing b: 11 JAN 1839
      > 7. Elen Blessing b: 9 NOV 1844
Lorenzo Blessing was my great grandfather. I am in the process of inputting all of the information I have on my ancestors to the Ancestry.com website. I believe you can access the records by going to the site and typing in Martin Blessing. My database numbers are 2058290 and 2148103. Happy hunting.
