MENANDS -- Mary Theresa Bergin, 66, died Tuesday at her home on Broadway. Born in Troy she lived in the Capital District all her life. She retired in 1990 as a clerk in the NY State Criminal Justice Department. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Bergin; mother of Mary H. Anderson of Menands and the late Joseph Anthony Bergin, also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday morning at 9:15 a.m. from the Hearly & Son Funeral Home, 1561 Western Ave., and 10:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church, Menands. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Burial Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy, N.Y.

  Mrs. Emmaline Gerhardt, 78, of N. Main St., Bridgewater, died Wednesday in the home of her on Lawrence, Paris Hill Road, Sauquoit, N.Y. Mrs. Gerhardt was born in Illinois, daughter of Nicholas GERHARDT and Hannah AUSTIN MILLER, she attended Beaver Creek School in the town of Brookfield. In 1905 she was married to George J. Gerhardt. The couple operated various farms in the area for a number of years. Mr. Gerhardt died in 1961. Mrs. Gerhardt attended the former Universalist Church. Besides her son, she leaves two brothers, William Miller, Utica, and a half brother, Alvie Wing, in California. The funeral will be at 2 Friday, from the Wilcox Funeral Home, West Winfield, with the Rev. Walter Hillis, pastor of the Bridgewater Congregational Church, officiating, Burial will be in Brookfield Rural Cemetery.

Nicholas Miller was born in 1864,says NY-so it must have been his father
they say came from England - I found a census that has a Nicholas age 70
along with an Emeline age 40 and a few people who are not related says farm
labor a Adelbert Cottis -and a Horace May -and a 5 yr.old Nicholas
Miller -1870 census for Bridgewater,NY- my grandma was told they came from
England,but not sure now just when and which one it was cause this sure
looks like my young Nicholas with his dad and I think it says they were all
born in NY- so the england story has flaws- also my grandma was a Paltinate
German- ( spelling stinks ) they came here from Germany and settled in
Herkimer

DAVIS--In Berlin, N. Y., Dec. 22, 1906, Arnold Davis, aged 82 years.

Mr. Davis was born in the town of Berlin, Feb. 10, 1824. His father, Arnold Davis, with his brother Robert, were elected the first choristers of the Seventh-day Baptist Church of Berlin, April 14, 1806. For many years Arnold was superintendent of the Bible school and chorister of the church. He professed faith in Christ when nineteen years old, was baptized by Eld. H. H. Baker and united with the church of which he had been a member more than sixty-three years. In 1850, Sept. 14, he was united in mariage with Lucinda D. Danforth, who died March 11, 1858. To them one child, Louise, was born who died in early life. In 1862 he was again maried to Roxaina Sweet who died in 1883 leaving one child, Louise. Funeral services were held in the church, Dec. 24. Sermon by the pastor founded on the twenty-third Psalm. This was his favorite Scripture and by request it was used. J.G.B.

Mrs. Jennie Wright
Unadilla -- Mrs. Jennie Wright, 82, of Unadilla, RD, died February 23, at the home following an extended illness.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 25, at the Joyce Funeral Home, Unadilla, with Rev. Merton Fitzgerald, pastor of the Unadilla Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney at a later date.
Mrs Wright was born on May 15, 1886 in Sidney Center, the daughter of Homer and Mary Dexter. She was the widow of Samuel Wright who died in June 1968.
She was a lifetime resident of the Unadilla area.
Mrs. Wright is survived by one son, James Wright; two daughters, Isabelle Platt, and Ruth Williams; and grandchildren.

Wright, David Wright, Douglas Wright, Roger Wright, Dwayne Wright, Ronald Wright, and Michael Wright, all of Unadilla, Phillip Wright of Morris, and Richard Wright of Trout Creek; five daughters, Mrs. Kenneth ( Betty) Polaski of Albertson, Mrs. Ray (Patricia) Peace of Franklin, Mrs. Edward (Francine) Pollard of the state of Arizona, Mrs. Randy (Marie) Livingston of Unadilla and Mrs. Wayne (Jackie) Lambretch of Trout Creek; 36 grandchildren; one great grandson; two sisters Mrs. Edson (Ruth) Williams of Harpursville and Mrs. Alford (Isabell) Platt of Zephyrhills, Fla. ;and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son John Wright, who died in 1977.
Funeral and committal services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan 27, 1988, in the Westcott Funeral Home, Unadilla, with the Rev. Robert C. Conway, pastor of the Unadilla Friends Church, officiating. Burial will be later in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney.
Friends may call Tuesday at their convenience. The family will be in attendance 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Guy Wright
Sidney-- Guy Wright, 92, of 19 Maple Ave., Sidney , and formerly of Unadilla, died Friday, September 21, 1990, at The Hospital, Sidney.
He was born April 13, 1898 in Unadilla, the son of Charles and Sarah (Salisbury) Wright. He married Mary Salisbury, who predeceased him March 4, 1934.
He was a retired dairy farmer and later was a truck driver in the tri-town area.
He was a 50 year member of the Unadilla Grange.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Ann Shirley Patterson.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Herdeker of Sidney, and Mrs. Percilla Price of Unadilla. He was predeceased by two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Cole and Mrs. Sarah Horth. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 24, 1990 from the C. H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main Street, Sidney. Burial followed in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney.

ENDICOTT — Evelyn Herdeker, 71, formerly of Sidney, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 1999, in Endicott.
She was born May 30, 1927, to the late Guy and Mary Salisbury Wright in Unadilla. Evelyn was employed by E.C.D. of Bendix, Sidney, as a harness assembler, until she retired in 1978. She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, Sidney. Evelyn is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Albert and Lori Herdeker of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; four grandchildren, Aaron, Lauren, Ashley and Eric; sister, Percilla Price of Sidney; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth Cole and Sarah Horth. Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers, Inc., 21 Main St., Sidney.
