Verified by the Mayflower Descendants Society. He was the progenitor of the Ebenezer's and their children that were involved in building the great fleet of merchantman and whaling vessels of our county. His son's and grandson's built on Ship Street in Mattapoisett, MA. In
1837 his building site was listed as being the Town Wharf property. He established this shipbuilding dynasty in 1792 and continuing until the formation of the Mattapoisett Wharf co., in 1834. The Vessels built here were mostly small merchantmen, one of the first of which was advertised in "the Medley", New Bedford's first newspaper. Ebenezer had 10 Children and two of them were named Ebenezer after their father. Apparently both wives wanted their first born male child to be named after their father. Patience first girl was named after Ebenezer's first Wife Mercy Blossom.
